Uè…paisà – Atto I° Franchein
Directed by
The first episode of a series based on three episodes which brings proof of integration problems in Italy by means of a journey throughout the peninsula. Talla is a Senegalese immigrant who everybody calls Franchein. He speaks one of the oldest dialects in Bari, the same one spoken in the old town, where social discomfort and isolation are on the menu. In this interview Talla expresses with dignity opinions on Italy, on a street trader's daily hardships and of his life aspirations. Can one integrate in Italian society speaking a dialect since the use of a language allows communication and provides vicinity and contact among different cultures?
