A la vita!

Directed by

Prea, an alpine hamlet in southern Piedmont. A group of friends living in the area decide to relive the experience of the buscatiè, the woodcutters who once lived and worked in the local mountains. From old Barba Ninu they learn the now forgotten practices of felling beech and chestnut trees, transporting the wood on steel cables, pulling it by hand using a specially made turret lathe, and sledding it downslope to the valley bottom. Filmed with amateur actors and sound recorded live to create a story not based on words but rather on the movement and action of the actors.
