140 km a l’Ouest du paradis

Directed by

The high plains in the heart of Papua New Guinea have become a popular tourist destination. The natives cash in on the tourists’ desire for the exotic by dressing in local costumes and performing traditional dances. An imminent threat overshadows the performances: the multinational ExxonMobil has bought the land for drilling oil and made a deal with the Huli tribe that promises money and modernity. No money has come forth and the future looks troubled: intratribal conflict, corrupt politicians and businessmen, and hordes of tourists expecting adventure in a world that has lost sense of itself.
