Three Thousand

Directed by

By revisiting audio-visual Inuit history, Asinnajaq explores her heritage, at the same time plunging into a sublime imaginary universe. She combines different techniques of animation with archival footage from a range of sources: early ethnographic documentaries, newsreels, and works of Inuit filmmakers. A reflection on how much and how little life has changed creates a tapestry of sensations in which past, present, and future conjure up a vision of hope and beautiful possibility.
