Moro no Brasil

Directed by

This is a real "road movie". More than 4000 kilometres on the roads of Brazilian sounds, not just samba and bossa-nova. The most relevant steps are in Pernambuco, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, with their various music styles, as frevo, maracatu, côco, embolada, forró. This is the way to show, with ludic exactness, the multicultural shape of Brazilian music carrying on the shoulders centuries of colonization, musical instruments, rhythms, melodies, through successful syncretism involving natives, Africans, Europeans. This kind of music belongs to everybody, it is played on the roads and it is able to communicate all thoughts and feelings. The director enjoyed making us listen and understanding this music among the folk of his country of adoption.
