Termini Imerese, an industrial zone 50 km outside Palermo. Tthe FIAT car factory was closed in 2011 after 40 years in operation. Five km away lies the Himera archeological site, an ancient Greek colony with over 13,000 graves, making it Europe’s largest necropolis. A post-apocalyptic landscape, a relic of failed industrial development and loss of economic, social, and cultural identity.
