"Cines" n. 6 documentary.
The documentary illustrates Paestum's remains. It opens with a view of the surrounding countryside, with cattle out to pasture, and goes on showing the intact city walls and Marina Gate with a tower on either side. Through this gate you get to Ceres' and Neptune's temples and to the basilica. The voice-over leads us along the tympana and the remains of the cella. It dwells on the sun-shaped decoration in honour of Apollo, on the different orders of the columns and their height, on the pediment of Neptune's temple once embellished with statues, pointing out the royal greatness of the temples. The camera closes up on the remains, then it zooms out into a long shot.
