L'argine

Directed by

Toni, an antique dealer who emigrated to Torino in 1951 after the Po's flood, returns to his native land. Here he meets an enigmatic woman that forces him to look back on the main stages of his life and face his removed memories. Toni has coped with the deeply changed contemporary Polesine. The story alternates beautiful landscapes and images of the flood from the newsreels of the time. The film was made on the 40th anniversary of the Polesine catastrophe, which occurred on November 14th 1951.
