Il mondo o niente

Directed by

An unusual perspective on the south of Italy that seeks to shed the stereotypes and portray an area of the country where modernity and archaic traditions blend in a curious mix of bitterness and wonder. Taking inspiration from Carlo Levi’s description of the “world down under”, the film explores places and moods to discover the little things that reveal histories of long ago. A journey from the Ionian coast of Basilicata to the Apennines where we meet young farmers skilled as much in modern technologies as in pruning plants, wolves that respond to calls amplified with megaphones, satellite antennas, plus an oil field threatening the waters of a nearby lake.
