How Green Was Our Valley

Directed by

Iran. Because of the construction of a hydroelectric dam and the consequent rise in the water level behind it, 63 villages along a verdant valley will be submerged and the residents forced to leave them. One of these villages is the site of a sacred sanctuary and the villagers are hoping for a miracle that will save them from a modern great Flood: a concrete example of the serious repercussions of industrial progress and its devastating impact on rural populations and the environment.
