A girl is forced to leave her village and move to Shanghai. A young man who has fallen in love with her follows her by train. The impact of the big city will be more than they expected: they will need to adapt to a new lifestyle and unaccustomed surroundings. A metaphor for today's China, in which real-life sequences are mixed with 3-D computer-generated images of virtual landscapes.
