Sardinia and Palestine are geographically distant yet share a common role in the history of pastoralism practiced in the Middle Est and the Mediterranean. Abel appears in the lives of Sardinian shepherds who tend their herds near a military target practice, in a deconsecrated church, and the sheepfolds of Supramonte, and in those of their Palestinian counterparts in the desert under the Israeli army’s watchful control. A broad canvas depicting the shepherds combatting the chaos surrounding them. Against this backdrop emerges Abel, the archetype figure of conflict in a never-ending account of human drama.
