Voyage au Pôle Sud

Directed by
Down Patagonia to the Terra del Fuoco then over to Antarctica. The short distance between the tip of South America and the Antarctic holds inescapable fascination for many explorers, some even referring to it as the “Antarctic bite”. For the past 30 years, Luc Jacquet has filmed the region and returns once again to create an adventure with a huge visual impact: the black and white images by three directors of photography (Christophe Graillot, Jérôme Bouvier, Sarah Del Ben) reveal the power of the landscape and its inhabitants. In this intimate and personal portrait of the wild, majestic, and endangered aspects of nature, the off-camera narrator’s voice adds an emotional dimension to the sense of discovery inherent to Jacquet’s work.
