2073

The place is New San Francisco, the year is 2073. Against the backdrop of irreversible climate disasters, the world is controlled by a group of ultra-liberals that have power over the media, technological advances, and surveillance systems. Human rights and dissent are banned. The voice-over is spoken by Ghost, one of the few that manage to resist. Ghost guides the viewer on his search for salvation, while facing terrifying danger and keeping inherited remembrances in memory. Taking inspiration from Chris Marker’s Le Jetèe (1962), the film draws on stylistic elements from science fiction and archival footage to combine docufiction and investigative reporting in an urgent call to change course before it’s too late.
