Two Minutes to Midnight
Directed by
A group of actresses gathers on a stage, ready to play the members of a hypothetical female government of a fictional nation. In light of a looming threat from an enemy country that is increasing its nuclear weapons, the government meets in a "Peace Room," as opposed to the "War Room" described in Dr. Strangelove. In deciding how to respond and whether to proceed with plans for unilateral disarmament, the government consults with real-life experts: defense consultants, female soldiers, lawyers, peace activists, human rights activists, and political figures, who gradually join the actresses. Placing real figures in an imaginary context, mixing written jokes and improvisation, the project explores what would happen if the world's countries were led by women.
