600 Million with you
Directed by
A brief counter-information documentary, almost a prototype of “cine-leafleting”. 600 million with you shows the Chinese demonstrations and protest marches against the British military intervention in Lebanon, when over two million demonstrators gathered outside the British diplomatic agencies in 48 hours. The documentary was filmed shortly before the shooting of Before Spring and with the same troupe. It was part of a cooperation-project between Ivens and some young Chinese film-makers, who had already invited him as a director and teacher in 1955.
