The Light Bulb Conspiracy

Directed by

Does a light bulb truly exist that has an infinite lifespan? Why do we prefer discarding a malfunctioning computer instead of fixing it? The solution to both queries lies in deliberate expiration or scheduled obsolescence, a business tactic ensuring constant consumption growth. We are able to follow the history of this market logic, which has been theorized since the 1920s and is now considered one of the most destructive environmental impacts, thanks to rare archive footage and unpublished documents.
