The Good Story

Directed by
Located about 40 sea miles off the coast of Abruzzo near Croatian territorial waters, the Fossa di Pomo, is a major habitat of demersal stock in the Adriatic. The sea bottom is home to vulnerable marine ecosystems threatened by intensive fishing. Under the provisions of the MedReAct and the Adriatic Recovery Project, intensive fishing was banned in 2017 under a ministerial decree, then later through the creation of restricted fishing zones/protected areas. Monitoring of the area just two years later revealed extraordinary findings. This is the story of the successful efforts of a group of researchers, activists, and fishermen working to defend the resources of the Adriatic.
