Soylent Green

Directed by

Roughly based on Harry Harrison’s sci-fi novel Make Room! Make Room!, the film is set in a drab, fog-shrouded New York City in 2022, when the Earth has become irremediably polluted and overpopulated. Suicide is promoted and assisted, food shortage is common, and the population is divided into castes. Food is produced by Soylent Industries. Investigating into the mysterious death of a company manager, Detective Thorn and his associate Sol Roth discover the secret surrounding the ingredients of the food products. Their efforts to reveal the truth are thwarted and they are doomed to a horrible fate.
