Reise Zum Wald
Directed by
Starting from an urban perspective, where the tree represents an exception to the geometrically ordered layout of buildings and streets, Jörn Staeger's camera, swift and elusive like a swarm of bees, insinuates itself between the rows of monocultures, where the hand of man is still visible, until it disappears into pristine forests, whose impenetrable vegetation appears as majestic as it is vulnerable to the threat of deforestation. A poetic and fascinating homage to the forest, one of the greatest myths of Teutonic culture.
«The forest is our natural power station for the air, the water and the ground. This film is without words; it's more like a poem or a painting. It tries to get in contact with the main protagonist of the forest: the tree».
