biography
He was born in West Berlin in 1965. From 1984 to 1991 he studied at the Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated in Visual Communication, and in 1994 he received a scholarship to complete his training in Chicago. Since 1990 he has worked as a filmmaker, but also as a cameraman, for both cinema and television: he directed the short films Im Dunkel Der Projection (1986), Schacht (1988), Desolatesse (1989, co-directed with Rasmus Gerlach), Splitter (1991), Ruinen (1993), Rad (2001), Depressionismus (2001), Zielpunkte Der Stadt (2004), Lebensgeister (2004) e il film televisivo Hier Bin Ich-Meidner (1990). Since 2003 he has been a professor at the Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts.
