Peak

Directed by

In recent decades, mass tourism has left an indelible footprint on many of the world’s natural environments. Perhaps nowhere else can modern man’s reworking of the landscape be better seen than mountain areas where an artificial paradise divorced from the concept of nature has been created with a technological prowess that rivals nature’s ability to put snow where and when it’s needed. Based on observations made over a 1-year period, this account of the changes occurring in various Alpine regions, which have become a hybrid of technology and nature, raises thought-provoking questions about our right to intervene in natural environments, altering their face perhaps irreversibly.
