La selva tranquila

Directed by

Several interwoven stories tell a local perspective on how people survive today alongside the extraordinary natural heritage of the Iquitos jungle in the Peruvian Amazon. Like that of Katu, who desperately tries to make a living from ecotourism, clashing with local hunters and loggers, or Chepa, who, growing up on the city's poor outskirts, is forced to illegally sell sloths, baby monkeys, and turtles to feed his family, breaking the very government laws that represent the only solution to saving an incredible ecosystem of fundamental importance to the entire planet.
