La Faute à Voltaire
Directed by
“There are no illegal immigrants. There are only men, women, human beings longing for a better life”. The director follows an immigrant's journey, exploring the predicament of the people excluded from globalized society and “trying to break the distances that tend to confine us in our differences and indifferences”. Jallel, a young Tunisian man, decides to go and try his fortune in France, emigrating to Paris as an illegal. As for Voltaire's Candide, the protagonist will finally have to confront the failure of his dreams.
