Il ciliegio di Rinaldo

Directed by

The film tells the moving  story of friendship between Emanuele, scion of a physician family and nature enthusiast since childhood, and Rinaldo, an old farmer and relict of a world that is fast disappearing. Profoundly deaf, impetuous, and agile, within this man lies a rare gift of fine thinking and an extraordinary ability to interpret nature’s signs. Emanuele becomes his student, his chauffeur, assistant, apprentice, and interpreter. When the time arrives to decide about his education, he is unsure whether to pursue medicine, as his family and friends insist, or agriculture, which he feels to be his calling. Rinaldo helps him make a fateful decision to follow his dream rather than the expectations of others.
