Haulout

Directed by

On the northern coast of eastern Siberia, above the Arctic Circle, in a flimsy hut battered by incessant winds, a man watches the horizon expecting something to appear. It is Maxim Chaliev, a marine biologist, who every autumn for the past 10 years has studied walruses, which are increasingly threatened by glacial melt. The film gives an account of the effects of climate change on the Arctic and of the scientists dedicated to their work.
