Das Forum - Rettet Davos die Welt?
Directed by
Founded in 1971, the World Economic Forum, held yearly in Davos, has become a privileged platform for the rich and mighty to debate current issues. In 2018, for the first time in its history, the Forum allowed an independent filmmaker to document the event and granted him access to closed-door discussions. Accompanied by Klaus Schwab, Forum founder and director and staunch proponent of dialogue as a tool to fix the world’s problems, Marcus Vetter guides us to the rooms where top managers in economy, politics, and international civil society talk. Among the guests is Greta Thunberg, the young activist Schwab wanted to have speak at the event. But is the Forum part of the solution or part of the problem and just a showcase for the elite?
