Dive! - Living Off America's Waste

Directed by

Every year, in the United States alone, over forty million tons of food are thrown away, approximately 1,500 kilograms per second. This is an absurd and frightening figure (even from an economic standpoint), considering that this food is often intact and still completely edible. Jeremy Seifert and some friends decided to analyze what Los Angeles supermarkets throw away at the end of the day to determine whether it is actually unusable waste. They will therefore literally immerse themselves in their city's waste production: the results, as well as the amount recovered, will be impressive.
