Asparragos

Directed by

The northern coast of Peru has recently been developed for cultivating asparagus. Irrigation by channeling glacial melt water from the nearby mountains has turned the desert region around Trujillo into an ideal place for growing this plant of Mediterranean origin. The film gives an account of the plant’s productive cycle as seen by the local farm hands who earn a couple of dollars a day for working the fields.
