Delikado

Directed by

Set on the island paradise of Palawan, in the Philippines, the film follows environmental activists Bobby Chan, Efren 'Tata' Balladeres and Nieves Rosento, who are trying to stop the uncontrolled exploitation of the environment, which often results in violent and criminal acts. They are the leaders of the Palawan NGO Network Inc (PNNI), an organization that protects forests and waterways. In addition to combatting illegal deforestation and fish poaching, they must do battle against the massive power of government bureaucracy and institutions, as if in a contemporary reinterpretation of the battle between David and Goliath. An investigative documentary, with the spirit and tension of a thriller, which tells the story of a country where the scourge of drug trafficking goes hand in hand with the environmental emergency.
