Bella and Vipulan are two teenagers interested in environmental issues. They have taken part in demonstrations, civil disobedience actions, and collaborate with NGOs, yet nothing seems to really work. They want to get to the root of the two threats to their future: climate change and the sixth mass extinction. To do this, they go on a journey around the world to find what connects them. Through their explorations and encounters with experts, the two youngsters begin to understand the connections between living species. Man believed he could live apart from nature, but he was wrong.
«In most ecosystems, species complement each other, interact, and self-regulate to maintain a form of balance. Among them, humans are capable of upsetting this balance for their own benefit, causing the disappearance of a staggering number of living species. However, after Bella and Vipulan's almost initiatory journey, we discovered that we can coexist with the rest of the world, even regenerating it towards new and exciting perspectives.
The images of landscapes, animals, and ecosystems were conceived for the big screen and to convey a powerful emotional charge. Sound is essential because it immerses us in the jungle, the night, the fields... We wanted above all to tell the story of two teenagers who, despite the sense of their future being inexorably threatened, mobilize with all their strength to figure out how to escape. The film is therefore the story of the geographical and intimate journey that profoundly transforms Bella and Vipulan, two young people ready to dive into the complexity of unknown situations. In turn, they unsettle many adults who are not used to dealing with two such mature and incisive teenagers».
