Amazonian Cosmos. Le voyage des Amerindiens
Directed by
By invitation of the Society for Threatened Peoples, NGO, natives of the Macuxi and Yanomami Amazonian tribes come to the United Nations, Geneva, to voice their rights. A delegation leaves the forests, a world of luminous spirits, ancestral knowledge, and harmony with nature, yet weakened and under threat. It is only through the united forces of the world’s spiritual leaders that the ancient prophecy of an imminent “Fall of the heavens onto the Earth” can be dispelled. The tribesmen’s journey to the “land of the white man” becomes a reverse ethnographic perspective on consumer society, revealing essential differences and providing new ideas for rethinking how to protect the ecological balance of the planet.
