Buongiorno Taranto

Directed by

The tensions and passions of a city like Taranto, where land, air, and water are poisoned by the industrial pollution of Europe's largest steelworks, built amidst the city's buildings and inaugurated almost fifty years ago. A nomadic and militant web radio station thus recounts the anger and dreams of the inhabitants of a region that, as the director himself states, "is a reflection of the degradation of an Italy in existential crisis. After having focused on the industrialization of a predominantly rural South, it now finds itself mired in open conflicts between industry and the environment, between identity and alienation, between health and work."
