Zoo Lock Down
Directed by
Exploration of life in Salzburg Zoo during the lockdown of Spring 2020. An essential, minimalistic account, filming the life of animals in an almost completely surreal dimension, in a suspended time, far from the voices and indiscrete gaze of visitors. This film is accompanied by a constant soundtrack. Monkeys, flamingos, crocodiles, rhinos, piranhas: they all experience an absurd and unforeseen situation resembling a dystopic tale from science fiction. Looking at life in this zoo, the viewer is led to reflect upon the restricted condition of these animals that are forced to live in captivity, in enclosed spaces that are too small and away from their natural habitat.
