Grace is a witty 13-year-old with big dreams and a gift to make everyone around her laugh. She recounts her early childhood in a world of games and play, together with her farming family in Kenya. Rain is a source of life and happiness. Imminent drought threatens the harvest and means that her father will have to seek work in the city. A sudden storm destroys the family’s house, but Grace remains optimistic for a better future despite climate change.
