Old farm machines introduce us to a world of work and silence, where daily toil is a basic fact of life: the life of Ines. Ines Vignudelli is an 82-year-old farmer who ekes out a lonely existence at La Lastra, her farm in the Apennines outside Bologna, where she was born and grew up. She has two cows, a calf, a dog, a cat, 15 rabbits, 8 chickens, 7 chicks and a long hard life behind her. The life of Ines.

Director's Notes
«Vita da Ines does not celebrate farm life; instead, it is a poetic account of an existence that has gradually taken shape over time. To capture the unpredictability of present time in nature's recurrent cycles, the camera had to pose gently on Ines' gestures and the crew had to live with her for a month. A synthesis emerged from observation and the compenetration of rhythms and life space. Every primary place of rest or transit became a set to which we returned again and again for takes from different angles. While editing the film, we tried to maintain the natural time of action and to accurately bring out the extraordinary humanity Ines possesses».
