The World According to My Dad

Directed by
Jiří Svoboda, physicist and materials science expert from Brno, claims to have the solution to climate change: levy a global carbon tax and share the revenue with the world’s population. His daughter, Marta, musician and mother, wanting to help him realize his dream, follows him around with a telecamera. Without a clue about current ideas on ecology, the two start out from their kitchen on a journey to meet environmentalists, activists, experts, and politicians and wind up at a world climate forum, where they fail to take the floor from powerful speakers. This is a personal story, tinged with humor and irony, in which an academic reveals the contradictions of academia and becomes an unwanted personification of collective consciousness.
