Can man command rainfall? Is the invocation of rain a superstition, a practice of primitive cultures, or a supernatural gift? Tanzania regularly experiences prolonged drought periods during which the local population ask whether there is someone or something that can bring rain. Perhaps the fact that no one any longer believes in the magical powers of rainmakers is not by pure chance.
