The Peacerunner

The project entitled “Keep Clean and Run” was created by Roberto Cavallo together with the Associazione Internazionale per la Comunicazione Ambientale (AICA), with a view to combine running and garbage collection in a sports activity termed plogging. Since 2015 the initiative has involved 15,000 people in the collection of nearly 250 tons of garbage in Italy. Cavallo runs up and down the country to raise awareness about the human footprint on the planet. For his most recent run, documented by Zichetti, Cavallo draws inspiration from the photos and films by his grandfather Remigo: visiting the sites of the Great War, he evokes the memory of that time and discovers a deep sense of the values shared by ecology and peace.
