«I wanted to make an animation film that could combine a serious and dark subject (life, death and existential anxiety) with a simple, almost naïve, narrative. I wanted to make a conceptual and abstract film that still would be able to convey enough as to give a brighter twist of hope and transcendence for the leaf towards the end of the short. At the same time I wanted to prove how far I could go with a project that I would write and direct, while also doing all the technical aspects of animation, lighting, compositing and rendering...».
