The End of an Era? A Story of Oil Workers

Directed by

Enquiring into the operations of Statoil (currently Equinor), a Norwegian oil company operating in Brazil, the film raises questions about the financial wisdom and ethical sense of investing in oil and gas extraction today, when attention is shifting toward renewable energy sources and interest in fossil fuels is declining. For the first time in front of the camera, ten company researchers and geologists talk about the transformation of the energy sector. In contrast, the young son of one of the men expresses his concern about climate change and the need to prioritize the environment. How ready to embrace change are the people directly involved in oil mining?
