The Ants & The Grasshopper

Directed by

Anita Chitaya’s gift of persuasion and tenacity help her to counter the problems of her village in Malavi, hard struck by increasing drought. In her search for a solution, she travels to the United States to persuade Americans that climate change is real and is global. In her encounters with climate change sceptics and desperate farmers, the contrasts that have shaped American history and society clearly emerge: the rural/urban divide, the gap between rich and poor, racial discrimination, and gender inequality. These urgent issues commingle with Anita’s experience as she faces the biggest challenge in her life.
