Risky Business

Directed by

Documented analysis of the risks of using biotechnologies in agriculture. The Calgene Director's claims that biotechnologies would favour a reduction in the use of chemical products are denied by data showing how nowadays most experiments concern the creation of plants able to support even bigger quantities of chemicals. Furthermore no attempt has been made to improve the stressful conditions of animals in intensive breedings and scientists are trying to produce animals able to bear these conditions. Members from Ecuador, India and Philippines associations denounce dirty and dangerous experiments in their countries, while a Vermount senator reports that Monsanto has strongly opposed a bill against the use of BGH hormone, harmful both to health and the cattle breeders' economy.
