Motifs from the golden age of 20th century motoring, when the car embodied movement, progress, and freedom, are overshadowed by visions of wrecks, junkyards, and metal frames. They lie at the bottom of the sea, stuck in rocky caves or in collapsed parking lots, like metal fossils in the twilight of industrial civilization.
