Once Upon a Time in a Forest

Directed by
The setting for this modern fable is the forest of Finland, one of Europe’s greatest and oldest expanses of conifers. A group of young people live there in symbiosis and harmony with nature. However, their decision to inhabit the forest was not dictated purely by a love of nature but rather by the threat of deforestation in the interest of the local lumber industry and politics and the mindset that the forest is the backbone of Finland’s economy and prosperity. Ida, Minka, Ville, Otto, and Eerik keep guard in the hope for the better yet aware that their effort may have been in vain.
