Nuked

Directed by
During the Cold War, the United Stated conducted nuclear testing in the Marshall Islands. The detonation of 23 atomic bombs still has consequences on four generations of the island inhabitants. This pristine paradise, its forests, and coral reef were destroyed and the inhabitants forcefully evacuated for the sake of mindless experiments. The narration focuses on the victims of the arms race and the battle for justice and survival of the islanders in the current context of global warming. The film includes archival footage illustrating the fury of the explosions and live accounts by the islanders, breaking with the official story propagated at the time and Oppenheimer’s troubles.
