Montagne di plastica

Directed by

The film is the outcome of two years of research by the University of Milan on microplastic pollution in the alpine glaciers of Lombardy, Valle d’Aosta, and Trentino-Alto Adige. The journey has moments of surprise and wonder in its intimate narration of the beauty of the sites along the way. Communication of the study data provides a chance to discover the complexity of environmental issues in time and space. Glaciers are not merely an indicator of climate change but also a historical record of human activity.
