McLibel

Directed by

Defined by its author “a film not about hamburgers, but about the cruel power exerted by multinationals on our lives”, McLibel reconstructs the longest trial in British history. McDonald’s sued for libel two members of London GreenPeace, Helen Steel and Dave Morris, for handing out leaflets against the company. The two activists refused to apologize, as requested, and decided to face the trial to prove the truth of their accusations: production of unhealthy food, incorrect publicity towards children, underpaid workers, cruel methods of breeding and slaughtering animals, destruction of tropical forests. At the end the couple will be able to prove some of their statements to the judge.
