Les Champignons pourront - Ils sauver le monde ?

Directed by

Everyone knows about mushrooms, especially champignons and porcini mushrooms. Few, however, are aware of certain mushroom varieties that could play a crucial role in addressing the environmental and health emergencies we may face in the not-too-distant future. These include Pleurotus ostreatus, which can absorb oil spills; Laccaria bicolor, which allows trees to grow in the most desert-like areas; Fomitopsis officinalis, a true last resort for patients suffering from terminal illnesses; and Physarum polycephalum, which can find the shortest route through a maze, revealing a brilliant, albeit primitive, intelligence.
