«How to show the long-term effect of climate change in 5 minutes? With the help of a simple metaphor. People hear about global warming and ecological problems every day. Yet they are unable to imagine what is really happening. The changes are happening so slowly and the ozone layer is so far away. “Explain it to me as if I were a small child”, the lawyer in the film Philadelphia asks the witnesses and the accused. It is the same with global warning: we are all witnesses as well as accused. So a helpful way to show the effects of global warming is with a simple metaphor. Imagine a fridge full of food. What happens inside when someone forgets to close the door? Even a small child can understand that».
